What is the best type of candle wax?

Soy, coconut, and beeswax burn cleaner and longer than paraffin and hold scent well. Many Kiawah Island makers use them, so ask what a shop pours.

Why is my candle tunneling or burning too fast?

It is usually a wick or wax-pool issue. Trim the wick to about a quarter inch and let the first burn melt the top edge to edge. A good shop can recommend the right size.
